Soldiers and Families gathered at Founders Field May 11, 2016, to welcome a new commander to Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion, 4th Infantry Division.
Lt. Col. Justin R. Howe officially took command of the battalion from Lt. Col. Robert L. Sketch during a change of command ceremony honoring the outgoing commander and welcoming the new commander.
Howe said he was ready to face the challenges of commanding a division headquarters battalion
“I look forward to the cooperative execution of our mission,” Howe said. “I am humbled and honored to serve the Soldiers and Families of this battalion.”
Howe and his Family were previously assigned to Fort Knox, Kentucky.
Sketch said he and his wife look forward to his new assignment but was honored to have served as the HHBN commander.
“We will always cherish the friendship, memories and the distinct honor to have served in the ‘Ivy’ Division,” he said.
Sketch will report to Fort Knox for his next assignment.
