FORT CARSON, Colo. — The Trailblazers with 4th Special Troops Battalion, 4th Sustainment Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, and the Silver Lions of 1st Battalion, 68th Armor Regiment, 3rd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 4th Inf. Div., came into their contest as the two top teams in the Ivy Week 2021 softball tournament.
Fireworks and excitement were expected from the two teams that had dominated the rest of the competition. Softball fans settled in for what they hoped would be a heavyweight fight between the top two teams.
The Trailblazer team did not disappoint their fans, as they continued to swing their hot bats. The 4th STB team jumped out to an early 19-1 lead after the first inning. Despite their best efforts the Silver Lions could not climb out of the hole. The championship game was called after the fourth inning with the Trailblazers winning 29-5.
